     This memorial website was created to remember our precious mother, Faith Ann Otten Grant, who was born in Peoria, Illinois on October 20, 1934 and entered into eternal rest on March 1, 2008. She will live forever in our memories and hearts.

     Faith Ann Otten Grant, 73, of Peoria, passed away at 12:05 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at home.
     Faith was born on October 20, 1934 in Peoria, a daughter of Raymond J. and Anna F. (Hadank) Otten. She married Jerry Lee Grant on February 21, 1953 in Oak Park. He preceded her in death on February 28, 2007. Her parents and two brothers, Raymond and William Otten, also preceded her in death.
     Faith is survived by her daughter, Deborah L. (Ronald) Smith of Marquette Heights; three sons, Rick S. Grant of Peoria, Jeffrey L. (Cindy) Grant of Peru and Steven L. (Allison) Grant of Sandwich; brothers, Greg (Ruth) Otten of Flat Rock, MI and Dave (Pauline) Otten of Reno, NV; sisters, Claire (Marv) Beyr of Florida and Donna (Dick) Halpin of Buffalo Grove; six granddaughters; and nine great grandchildren.
     Faith retired, after ten years of service, as a sales clerk in the women’s department at Bergner’s Department Store at Sheridan Village. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Peoria Heights. Faith and her daughter, Deborah, enjoyed volunteering for the spring and fall garage sales at St. Thomas. She was also a member of the Illinois Civic Opera.
     Faith enjoyed oil painting, shopping and reading. She collected crystal, jewelry, books and paintings. She enjoyed listening to Barbara Streisand, opera music, light rock and the St. Thomas Church Choir. “On Eagles Wings” was her favorite song.
     She liked spending her time at church and with her friends, Dorothy Weaks, Irene McMenamin, Hazel Atkinson, Patty Otten and her brother, David Otten. She was a fan of the Chicago Bears and figure skating and also enjoyed traveling. Faith and her daughter shared a special trip to France in the summer of 2007.
     Faith had a heart of gold and an unselfish nature. She had a great love for others and was a very giving woman. She gave great care and had an immense love for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
     A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, with Monsignor William Watson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Entombment will be at Resurrection Mausoleum in Peoria. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Thomas Building Fund.
     Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Clary Funeral Consultants in Peoria.
